There’s a lot of confidentiality surrounding this project, so this dispatch is necessarily circumspect. What we can say is that, in terms of our commitment to understanding behaviour as driven by contexts, rather than individuals, this project was tailored made for Collaborative Change.
Researching with a community that lives and works in remote, extreme and confined conditions for periods of 2 weeks at a time was as exhilarating as it was challenging. We met some fantastic people who inspired a complex, but thoroughly holistic programme, incorporating some exciting choice architecture work and contextual shifts based on our understanding of non-rational decision making an ego-depletion.
It’s very rare that you have the opportunity to work on a project that allows you to understand a community and design an intervention in the context of all 3 levels of behavioural influence: personal, social and structural. However, given the extreme nature of the environment in which we were working, the structural elements of the intervention were fundamental to affecting any sort of sustainable change.
It was a privilege to work on this project… just hope we can tell you more soon.
